    On-line analytical processing (OLAP) describes an approach to decision support, which aims to extract knowledge from a data warehouse, or more specifically, from data marts. Its main idea is providing navigation through data to non-expert users, so that they are able to interactively generate ad hoc queries without the intervention of IT professionals. This name was introduced in contrast to on-line transactional processing (OLTP), so that it reflected the different requirements and characteristics between these classes of uses.     Checklist of marine Crustacea Decapoda (excluded Brachyura) from Iberian Peninsula

    An actualized and annotated checklist of marine Crustacea Decapoda (excluded Brachyura) from Iberian Peninsula and by sectors (Northern Spain (Gulf of Biscay to Galicia) - West Portugal - Gulf of Cádiz (S Portugal- SW Spain: Cape San Vicente to Gibraltar Strait) - Alborán Sea - Eastern Mediterranean Spain (Baleares-Levante)) is provided. Systematic changes and synonymies, new records, introduced species by anthropogenic activities and characterization of the spatial distribution of species are commented. In total 292 decapods species (not including Brachyura), belonging to 134 genera and 42 families, are cited along Iberian waters. Of these, 114 were not found by Zariquiey Álvarez (1968). The richest families are Paguridae, Hippolytidae and Palemonidae (with 28, 21 and 17 species respectively). By sectors, the Gulf of Cadiz shows the highest richness (178 species), consequence of the confluence of Atlantic and Mediterranean waters and of a greater depth range in this area (when comparing with the adjacent Alborán Sea sector). The total marine decapod species along Iberian waters (including crabs, Marco-Herrera et al., 2015) is, at least, 431.     En esta nota se informa sobre la presencia del estoma­tópodo Parasquilla ferussaci en las costas de la península ibérica. La documentación está basada en tres especímenes capturados, respectivamente, en Isla Cristina (Huelva) en el Golfo de Cádiz, Fuengirola (Málaga) en el Mar de Alborán y en Gavà (Barcelona) en el Me­diterráneo noroccidental. Se amplia la distribución conocida de la especie completando así el vacío existente hasta el momento entre las citas atlánticas y las del Mediterráneo central. Palabras clave: Parasquilla ferussaci, Estomatópodo, Mediterráneo occidental, Golfo de Cádiz.We report the occurrence of the little known stomatopod Parasquilla ferussaci on the Atlantic and Mediterranean coasts of the Iberian peninsula. Documentation is based on three specimens captured off Isla Cristina (Huelva) in the Gulf of Cadiz, off Fuengirola (Málaga) in the Alboran Sea and off Gavà (Barcelona) in the North-Western Mediterranean. These reports fill the distribution gap between Eastern Central Atlantic reports and previous Mediterranean reports east of the Balearic Islands.     Shape matters: relevance of carapace for brachyuran crab invaders

    The increasing trend of biological invasions is one of the most concerning threats for ecosystems functioning. The identification of optimal characters determining the invasive potential of nonnative species has always been a challenge in conservation studies. Morphological features can be used as a good proxy to address the invasive success in fish species, assuming that anatomical differences in comparison to native species can provide to newcomers ecological opportunities increasing their probability to become successful. Considering this, the present study constitutes the first applicative attempt of a model based on geometric morphometrics to demonstrate the importance of the carapace shape in the invasive ability in marine decapod crustaceans. The study was performed on the native brachyuran community of Alfacs Bay, in the Ebro Delta, the largest estuarine zone along the north-western Mediterranean, in which two recently established non-native crab species coexist: Dyspanopeus sayi and Callinectes sapidus. Results suggested that invaders with extreme carapace traits located peripherally in the community morphospace, such as C. sapidus, usually possess ecological advantages contributing to understand their success. Conversely, intermediate morphologies within the morphospace, such as D. sayi, imply ecological overlapping with native species reducing their community relevance. Besides, we also assessed the effect on the community morphospace of a hypothetical future invasive event from another crab species (Portunus segnis) with high probabilities to also colonize the community. Our outcomes confirm that the morphometric approach could be an alternative tool for assessing the potential ability of invasive crab species. However, further studies at different spatial and temporal scales, including additional traits and quantitative data from invasions, would be necessary to confirm the efficacy and usefulness of the methodology.Postprint2,89

    MEDAL: An AI-Driven Data Fabric Concept for Elastic Cloud-to-Edge Intelligence

    Current Cloud solutions for Edge Computing are inefficient for data-centric applications, as they focus on the IaaS/PaaS level and they miss the data modeling and operations perspective. Consequently, Edge Computing opportunities are lost due to cumbersome and data assets-agnostic processes for end-to-end deployment over the Cloud-to-Edge continuum. In this paper, we introduce MEDAL, an intelligent Cloud-to-Edge Data Fabric to support Data Operations (DataOps)across the continuum and to automate management and orchestration operations over a combined view of the data and the resource layer. MEDAL facilitates building and managing data workflows on top of existing flexible and composable data services, seamlessly exploiting and federating IaaS/PaaS/SaaS resources across different Cloud and Edge environments. We describe the MEDAL Platform as a usable tool for Data Scientists and Engineers, encompassing our concept and we illustrate its application though a connected cars use case

    Biogeography of epibenthic crustaceans on the shelf and upper slope off the Iberian Peninsula Mediterranean coasts: implications for the establishment of natural management areas

    Special Volume: Mediterranean marine demersal resources: the Medits international trawl survey (1994-1999)The patterns of occurrence and bathymetric distribution of epibenthic crustaceans on the continental shelf and upper slope down to a depth of 800 m are analysed based on data gathered during six demersal trawl surveys performed annually in spring along the Mediterranean coasts of the Iberian Peninsula (from the Straits of Gibraltar to Cape Creus) between 1994 and 1999. A total of 598 valid hauls has been studied providing a total of 108 species of decapods, two stomatopods, one euphausiid, one mysid and one isopod. The study area has been subdivided into seven sectors according to their geomorphological characteristics, and the patterns of occurrence and abundance by depth have been analysed separately for each of the sectors. Detailed data on bathymetric distribution are presented for each species. Two main biogeographical areas can be discerned along the study area, which can approximately be separated at Palos Cape: the Alborán Sea to the southwest, and the northwestern Mediterranean (Levantine and Catalan Seas) northwest of Palos Cape. The continental shelf in the Alborán Sea (the most western area of the Mediterranean) is extremely narrow whereas it is much wider in the northwestern Mediterranean. The influence of Atlantic waters entering the Mediterranean is particularly strong in the Alborán Sea which shows a particularly high species richness of Atlantic affinity. Within the context of the western Mediterranean Sea, the Alborán Sea region shows important faunistic characteristics such that it might be considered as a possible separate natural management area for demersal fisheriesVersión del editor1,006

    International audienceData Warehouses (DWs) are large repositories of data aimed at supporting the decision-making process by enabling flexible and interactive analyses via OLAP systems. Rapid prototyping of DWs is necessary when OLAP applications are complex. Some work about the integration of Data Mining and OLAP systems has been done to enhance OLAP operators with mined indicators, and/or to define the DW schema. However, to best of our knowledge, prototyping methods for DWs do not support this kind of integration. Then, in this paper we present a new prototyping methodology for DWs, extending [3], where DM methods are used to define the DW schema. We validate our approach on a real data set concerning bird biodiversity

    Programa de rehabilitación cardíaca mediante un entrenamiento de tenis adaptado

    The aims of this study were to determine the effect of a cardiac rehabilitation program, based on the adjustment of a sports modality (tennis), on differentes laboratory analysis variables (triglycerides, cholesterol,cholesterol LDL, cholesterol HDL and glucose ) And and on an exercise stress test (metabolics equivalent-METs-, time of effort, systolic pressure, dyastolic pressure, maximum cardiac frecuencia and double product). The study involved 7 patients with low risk myocardial heart attack. The ages was include between 48 and 63 years old. By the end of the program, which has lasted 3 months, triglycerides, cholesterol, exercise capacity and double product had improved significantly (p<.005 for all).Los objetivos de este estudio son evaluar los efectos de nuestro programa de rehabilitación cardiaca, basado en la adaptación de una modalidad deportiva (tenis), sobre diferentes variables del perfil lipídico (triglicéridos, colesterol, cLDL, cHDL, y glucosa) así como en la prueba de esfuerzo (MET, tiempo de esfuerzo, presión sistólica, presión diastólica, frecuencia cardíaca máxima y doble producto). Analizamos a 7 pacientes con infarto agudo de miocardio de bajo riesgo. Las edades estaban comprendidas entre los 48 y 63 años. Tras la realización del programa, que ha tenido 3 meses de duración, se han producido mejoras significativas a nivel de triglicéridos, colesterol, capacidad funcional valorada en equivalentes metabólicos y doble producto (p<.005 para todos)
